My Greatest Productivity Insight in the Past 10 Years
Why do we want to be more productive? To have more time.
Why do we want more time? To do what we love with the people we love.
What do most of us want? To know that we are making a difference and living our lives fully.
What does all of this have to do with my past 10 years – and greatest insight – as a productivity coach and consultant?
I have come to understand that productivity, if not used to support the work of your heart and life of your soul, is simply ineffective.
Let me explain.
When I first started my practice, I focused on the best practices of productivity; how to get more done with less effort.
About a year into my business, however, I came to realize that productivity helped my clients accomplish more, but if they were not fulfilled in their work and life, productivity was simply another tool to help them accomplish more while living with…
… only intermittent moments of happiness
… the sense that there was more to life than how they were living it
… a low hum of discontentment
No matter how productive they became, my clients still woke up every day to their same unfulfilling career and/or life.
After experiencing this in my own life and seeing it in the lives of my clients, I slowly began shifting the tide and message of my work.
I began to work with people to integrate living in their alignment with productivity; coming into alignment with the work of their heart and life of their soul with my time-tested productivity teaching.
As they aligned with their inner truth they began to say “No” to the people and work that drained them and “Yes” to people and things that aligned with them. This allowed them to step into their greatest success with joy, ease and inner peace, knowing that they were making a difference and living their lives fully.
